Weight loss management

For those of you who are trying to lose weight and improve your health, you can easily meet your goals using our medically supervised weight loss management program. We offer Appetite Suppressants, Lipo B Injections, and GLP-1 Saxenda.

APPETITE SUPPRESSANTS

One of the strategies used here in order to help you achieve your weight loss goals is prescription strength appetite suppressants. Appetite suppressants help to minimize cravings for unhealthy foods while simultaneously teaching your body to remain satisfied and nourished throughout the day without overeating. These medications do not cause weight loss. They are prescribed to help you in reducing your caloric intake by reducing your hunger. Weight loss occurs when your caloric expenditure exceeds your caloric intake. While taking prescription weight loss medications, it is important to begin making small behavioral and lifestyle changes, such as increasing your amount of daily physical activity, in addition to developing healthy eating choices and reducing your caloric intake.

Phentermine/Prozac and Phentermine/Topiramate (Qsymia) are available in our office for our patients. Get ready to shed those extra pounds with the assistance of short-term appetite suppressants!

Appetite Suppressants Cost

$125  for First Visit (includes 1 month of prescription appetite suppressants)

$80 per month for subsequent visits (includes 1 month of prescription appetite suppressants)

Plus an initial Lab/EKG fee of $75.00 (fee waived if labs and EKG performed and documented within 1 month)

COMPLEX LIPO-B INJECTIONS

Lipo-B Injection: Complex B Vitamins + Lipotropic amino acids: Choline, Methionine, and Inositol

Dubbed the “Weight Loss Shot”, this safe and effective injection helps burn fat, increase energy, lower stress and anxiety, restore mental clarity and memory loss, and decrease hunger. Shots can be taken safely once a week or as needed when your weight loss is at a standstill.

A lipotropic substance decreases the deposit, or speeds up the removal of fat within the liver. Lipotropic nutrients are a class of agents that plays an important role in the body’s use of fat. They enhance the liver and gallbladder’s role by decreasing fat deposits and by speeding up the metabolism and removal of fats. The liver is the key organ in the control of body fat. Even if you do everything right, if your liver is slow to process fats it will slow your weight loss. The lipotropic portion of our Lipo B injections is composed of three amino acids: Choline, Methionine, and Inositol. They help your liver process fats at peak efficiency, making your weight loss easier to maintain.

For these reasons, we recommend weekly Lipotropic injections to help you lose weight. In most cases, after just 4 weeks of injections, you will look and feel healthier.*

Vitamin B12

B12 is used in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. It is involved in making DNA, necessary in the production of new healthy cells. It is a nutrient that helps keep the body’s nerves and blood cells healthy. B12 lowers homocysteine levels, a protein associated with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and dementia. It is often used to give an energy boost, helping to increase activity levels. While B12 is found naturally in a healthy diet, factors like stress and poor eating habits can lead to a deficiency.

Our Lipo-B injection utilizes a highly absorbable form of Vitamin B12 called Methylcobalamin. It is felt that this form of B-12 may also be better retained within the body. Methylcobalamin has also been studied in sleep-wake rhythm disorders, where it appears to yield benefits.

B5

Vitamin B5 - pantothenic acid - plays an important role in the secretion of hormones, such as cortisone because of the role it plays in supporting the adrenal gland. These hormones assist the metabolism, help to fight allergies and are beneficial in the maintenance of healthy skin, muscles and nerves.

Pantothenic acid is also used in the release of energy as well as the metabolism of fat, protein and carbohydrates. It is used in the creation of lipids, neurotransmitters, steroid hormones and hemoglobin.

Some are of the opinion that pantothenic acid is also helpful to fight wrinkles as well as graying of the hair.

Deficiency of vitamin B5: With Vitamin B5 in short supply symptoms like fatigue, headaches, nausea, tingling in the hands, depression, personality changes and cardiac instability have been reported.

Frequent infection, fatigue, abdominal pains, sleep disturbances and neurological disorders including numbness, paresthesia (abnormal sensation such as "burning feet" syndrome), muscle weakness and cramps are also possible indications that this nutrient is in short supply.

B6

  • Reduces homocysteine levels, which lowers your risk of stroke, heart disease, cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, and many degenerative diseases.
  • Helps to form serotonin and other chemicals that are essential to the health of your nervous system.
  • Helps to produce vitamin B3, also known as niacin.
  • Helps to form hemoglobin, a key component of your red blood cells.
  • Helps to dampen the effects of steriod hormones like estrogen and testosterone in your body, which can potentially decrease your risk of sex hormone-sensitive cancers like breast and prostate cancers.

B3

The body uses vitamin B3 in the process of releasing energy from carbohydrates. It’s needed to form fat from carbohydrates and to process alcohol. The niacin form of vitamin B3 also regulates cholesterol, though niacinamide does not.

L-Carnitine

Carnitine, also known as L-Carnitine, is a naturally occurring nutrient that is produced in the kidneys and liver. This nutrient helps convert fat into energy and has thus obtained a reputation as a viable supplement for weight loss and exercise enhancement. The body typically produces sufficient amounts of L-Carnitine for its needs. However, some people, particularly those suffering from certain heart and liver conditions, may need to supplement their intake of L-Carnitine.

Methionine

Methionine is one of the sulfur-containing amino acids and is important for many bodily functions. It acts as a lipotropic agent to prevent excess fat buildup within the liver, is helpful in relieving or preventing fatigue, and may be useful in some cases of allergy because it reduces histamine release. Patients with a Sulfa allergy should not take this injection.

Inositol

Inositol, a nutrient belonging to the B vitamin complex, is closely associated with choline. It aids in the metabolism of fats and helps reduce cholesterol within the blood. Inositol participates in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite.

Choline

Choline supports the health of the liver, in its processing and excretion of chemical waste products within the body. Moreover, it is required for the transport and metabolism of fats and cholesterol within the body.

GLP-1 Saxenda

Saxenda® is different from weight management products that you may have taken in the past. It works like a hormone the body produces naturally that regulates appetite, known as glucagon-like-peptide (GLP-1). By activating areas of your brain that regulate appetite, Saxenda® may make you feel less hungry, which can lead to lower calorie intake and weight loss.b Saxenda® can help you to not only lose weight, but keep it off as well. Your body naturally produces glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which helps regulate your appetite. Saxenda® works like GLP-1. GLP-1 is thought to regulate one’s appetite. Calorie intake is a behavior that may be impacted by appetite. Less Appetite means Less Caloric Intake. Simple.
